How dual pricing works
Every item has a cash price and a card price. Here is how the card price is worked out and how it can be changed.
Where to find this in Storey: Turned on by Storey when your account is set up
With dual pricing, every item has a cash price (the price you enter) and a card price. The card price is a fixed percentage higher. Storey sets the percentage for your location, and fractions of a cent always round up.
At the register
Above Pay you'll see both totals: Cash and Card. Customers paying by card pay the card total, whether it's on the card machine or keyed in.
Removing the card fee from one sale
Tap Remove card fee for this sale. The customer can still pay by card, but they pay the cash prices. This uses the same approval as before: either any employee allowed to waive it, or a manager, enters their PIN. Change the basket and the fee comes back.
Changing one item
Open the item in the Console and find Card price:
- Uses the standard %: the normal card price.
- A different percentage for this item or A flat markup for this item: managers and owners only. Storey shows who set it and when.
- Always the cash price: leaves this item out of dual pricing.
Online shop
Shoppers always pay by card, so your shop shows each item's card price.
